PETG Cards
What is PETG?
PETG, a thermoplastic polyester derived from PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate), incorporates glycol to enhance its chemical resistance, durability, and formability. With identical monomers as PET but superior strength, impact resistance, and tolerance for higher temperatures, PETG finds widespread applications in 3D printing, consumer products, and smart cards.
Why PETG Is Eco-Friendly?
- Recyclability: PETG can be easily recycled using chemical processes to break down the polymer chains into their original components. These components can then be used as raw materials for manufacturing new polymers.
- Non-Toxic and Environmentally Friendly: PETG is non-toxic and poses no danger to wildlife. It won’t harm animals in your garden if used for outdoor products.
- UV Resistant: PETG retains its shape and mechanical stability even when exposed to the sun’s UV rays. This makes it suitable for outdoor applications.
- Chemical Resistance: PETG is resistant to aggressive chemicals and solvents, making it a good choice for applications where parts are exposed to such substances.

Advantages of PETG as a Smart Card Material
Durability
PETG has outstanding toughness and high impact strength. It is up to 3-10 times stronger than ordinary plastic plates, making it ideal for smart cards that need to withstand wear and tear.
Transparency
Compared to PVC, PETG has high transparency and good luster. This clarity is essential for smart card designs and readability.
Chemical Resistance
PETG is chemical resistant and recommended for applications exposed to aggressive chemicals or outdoor weather conditions.
Eco-friendly
PETG is biodegradable and environmentally friendly, making it a sustainable choice for smart cards.
